nShift integration with SAP helps Hästens sleep more easily

The Challenge
Bedmaker, Hästens, has been in the hands of the same family for six generations, growing from its roots in Sweden to become recognized and celebrated around the world, with five in-house retail shops in Manhattan alone
The company has several logistics flows, both inbound and outbound. Raw materials are sent to Köping where their beds are produced before being sent to their warehouse in Borås, whereas finished materials are sent to Borås directly. Accessories also go directly to Borås, where the order is then picked before being shipped onwards.
The basic system that Hästens were using to manage these transports was not linked to the company’s SAP business system. This meant that a lot of information had to be written multiple times, resulting in significant manual correction work. Change was needed.
It’s a very simple system. The integration with SAP means the information is already predefined from our order that we create in SAP, so we basically just have to attach a couple of documents for an export.

The Solution
All Hästens shipments are now booked in nShift and, thanks to the SAP integration, details about tracking numbers, weights and volumes are sent over automatically, making it much easier to produce consignment notes and labels.
To make life even easier, certain carriers have their own dedicated login to Hästens’ nShift account and can even go in and book shipments. This way, they also have control over the incoming bookings and can go in and double-check to see what is on the way.
Hästens has also been benefiting from nShift’s “Analytics” tool, which enables them to measure shipping precision by easily comparing which carriers are used, how they are used, and for what. As Distribution Manager, Carina Johansson, explains: “We are in an ongoing process with our European carriers where we follow the transport from departure to delivery. Thanks to Analytics, we can now see and track this information easily.”
