From its Helsingborg warehouse, Unilever Sweden coordinates deliveries of over 400 household-name brands like Lipton, Dove, and Ben & Jerry’s to supermarkets across the country.
With growing demand and no room for delays, the team needed complete transparency into daily deliveries, as well as a way to identify, prevent, and act on any potential disruptions fast.
Unilever’s logistics operation leaves no margin for error:
Keeping that promise requires real-time visibility into shipment status, reliable system performance, and accurate daily delivery data. But with multiple transport partners and hundreds of deliveries a day, manual tracking quickly became impractical.
Unilever implemented nShift TMS to automate shipment tracking and streamline reporting to its SAP system. Each night, nShift provides a file summarizing the previous day’s deliveries, allowing Unilever to verify timing, status, and carrier performance automatically.
The automated setup eliminates manual booking and data entry, reduces human error, and allows the team to act immediately if delivery commitments are at risk. For instance, If promised delivery times are being missed, they can look at ways to remedy the problem, for example by changing carriers or by agreeing a different time slot with the customer.
With a fully data-driven process, Unilever now operates with complete delivery precision and transparency.
Beyond accuracy, the automation saves time and money by removing repetitive transport admin, allowing the team to focus on continuous improvement.
