Alongside housing the world’s largest Vincent van Gogh collection, the Van Gogh Museum runs a growing webshop and four retail stores that require frequent restocking. Managing deliveries for both B2C and internal replenishment meant coordinating multiple carriers, handling fragile items and ensuring every shipment was processed with care. To support this complexity, the museum needed a delivery setup that worked seamlessly within its established Exact Globe ERP environment.
Solution delivered in partnership with Exact Globe
Exact ERP software for wholesalers and manufacturers consolidates financial, logistical, manufacturing and administrative business processes within a single system. It's suitable for small-scale, fledgling traders with multiple warehouses and for small, start-up manufacturing companies. Having the best customer service requires a seamless integration between the ERP and delivery management software.
Challenge
Demand from the museum’s webshop, combined with the need to restock four physical stores several times each week, created significant logistical pressure. The museum ships a wide range of products, including extremely fragile items, using multiple carriers. This meant delivery processes were often complex and time-consuming, and required meticulous attention to avoid errors.
We sell a lot of merchandise via our webshop and we also have four other shops that are restocked several times per week. We work with multiple carriers.
We also deliver extremely fragile items, which require extra care when being shipped. This makes our shipments more complex.

To support a new logistics strategy, the museum needed a delivery platform that could simplify operations, automate manual steps and make the service more accessible for teams across the organisation.
Solution
The museum integrated nShift’s delivery management platform with its existing Exact Globe ERP system to consolidate and streamline shipping activities. This gave staff one system to manage bookings, documentation and carrier selection, immediately improving usability.
Everything is now arranged via one system, which is far more user-friendly.

The ERP now automatically chooses the correct carrier based on destination, especially important for cross-border shipments, which not all carriers support. Export documents and special labels are generated automatically, replacing the manual process used previously.
These improvements not only reduced handling time but also enabled the museum to reach international customers more efficiently.
For each purchase, the correct carrier is automatically selected by the ERP system based on the shipment destination. nShift ensures the automatic generation of the required documents and special labels.
Previously, this was all done by hand.

The museum also benefits from automated customer updates:
The system automatically emails our customers to keep them up to date. This means that both we and our customers are always up to date with the status of a shipment, 24 hours per day. It’s ideal!

Exact highlights the value of the partnership as well:
The combination of Exact ERP and NShift delivery management software has resulted in many satisfied and successful customers, such as the Van Gogh Museum. We are proud of our long-lasting partnership with nShift.

Results
With nShift Transsmart integrated into Exact Globe, Van Gogh Museum now manages all deliveries through one unified workflow: webshop orders, restocks and fragile items. Carrier selection, export documentation and label generation are all automated, reducing manual errors and saving time across logistics and planning.
The museum has strengthened its global delivery capability, offering customers faster and clearer shipment updates. Internally, the setup brings consistency across departments and enables the museum to support logistics needs more efficiently.
Thanks to nShift’s system, we save a great deal of time! These days we can even deliver worldwide within 48 hours. This is a huge change compared to how we used to work.
