The Nordic Swan Ecolabel is the official independent and third-party certified ecolabel of the Nordic countries, enforcing tough environmental requirements in all phases of a product’s lifecycle. The Nordics are often attributed as sustainability leaders, demonstrated by their position in the Europe Sustainable Development Report 2021[1] (Finland 1st, Sweden 2nd, Denmark 3rd and Norway 5th).
According to recent research, 95% of the Nordic consumers know the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, and 64% of Nordic consumers who know it, look for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel when choosing products[2]. As a result of the implementation, nShift will clearly highlight carrier services labelled with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel in Checkout, Ship and Track.
E-commerce logistics services labelled with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel will be easily searchable in nShift’s extensive carrier library so customers can quickly identify certified delivery options that are a better choice for the climate and the environment. The first services labelled with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel are expected to be certified during the third quarter of 2023, and the label will be searchable thereafter.

Who can get the Nordic Swan Ecolabel? Nordic transport and logistics companies can apply to become licence holders. After an approved licensing process, they can offer Nordic Swan Ecolabel e-commerce transportation to e-commerce businesses. At checkout, consumers can choose a Nordic Swan Ecolabel delivery option.
