Embacollage provides high-quality packaging, point-of-sale and shipping materials for businesses across Europe and beyond. Its services include standard and customised packaging solutions, warehousing, distribution, inventory management and dedicated webshop solutions for more than 220 retail brands. As logistics became more complex, the company needed a more efficient way to connect order handling, warehouse workflows, freight calculation and shipment booking.
Challenge
Before the project, Embacollage’s freight and warehouse processes involved manual steps across multiple systems. Picking and packing relied on printed pick lists, while shipment booking through nShift Ship was part of a broader process that still required employees to move between tools.
The goal was to create a more digitally driven logistics setup inside Business Central. Embacollage wanted employees to handle more of the flow in one place, reduce repetitive manual work, and give customers clearer visibility of freight costs before orders moved through fulfilment.
Solution
Working with Obtain Group and XtensionIT, Embacollage implemented Shipment Connector to bring freight and logistics functions from nShift Ship directly into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This connected order handling, warehouse processes, shipment booking and freight-cost calculation in one flow.
The new setup enables employees to manage the process from picking and packing with Tasklet Factory’s scanner solution through to booking and freight calculation directly in Business Central. XtensionIT and Obtain Group also developed a sales freight calculation layer, allowing freight prices to be calculated from Embacollage’s own carrier agreements and criteria such as weight and location.
Results
Embacollage now operates with a more connected freight process. Freight calculation, label management, picking operations and track-and-trace information are handled through a digital workflow in Business Central, reducing unnecessary manual processes.
Customers benefit from clearer freight pricing before checkout, while Embacollage gains better control over transport costs and stronger margin visibility. The setup also supports proactive customer communication through continuously updated track-and-trace information.
