Whether customers need warehousing, logistics solutions, or transport within Europe and Scandinavia, DTK can deliver efficiently and at scale. They have grown rapidly over the past five years, expanding into multiple divisions that produce workwear, packaging materials, and even e-bikes.

With annual growth of more than 100%, the company needed a more efficient, sustainable, and reliable way to manage its order fulfillment process.

Challenge

DTK’s old packing process required separate printing of the order, packing slip, and shipping label — a slow, manual workflow that took more than two minutes per order.

As order volumes increased, the company needed a way to simplify labeling and accelerate throughput without adding staff or complexity.

In the old situation, we had to print the order, print the packing slip, and also print the shipping label, and it took almost up to two and a half minutes per complete order.

Solution

Working with nShift Ship, Lexmark, and PTechno, DTK implemented a print-and-ship solution that merges the packing slip and shipping label onto a single Lexmark-printed label.

Now we are printing it on one label and are able to do it in 15 seconds.

The solution also eliminated errors by combining shipping and packing details in one place, while reducing waste through recyclable materials and removing single-use plastics.

The packing list and the address are on the same label now, so there’s no risk of confusion anymore, and it’s very easy to attach the label to the box.

Results

The impact has been immediate and measurable. By adopting the new print-and-ship process, DTK has achieved:

  • 90% faster processing (from 2.5 minutes to 15 seconds per order)

  • 35 hours saved daily in printing time

  • Lower stress and fewer errors thanks to automation

  • Reduced plastic use and energy consumption

  • Higher capacity to handle growing order volumes with the same staff

The flow in the complete process is much better, and in the end, we are more sustainable [...] We are doing more orders in the same time with less people, less stress, reducing energy, and reducing plastic waste.
