The Challenge

Every day, Berggård Amundsen delivers electrical equipment to installers, power plants and construction sites in Norway – deliveries their customers rely on to do their work. As Logistics Director at Berggård Amundsen, Rolf Inge Danielsen, explains, the company needs a system that enables them to quality assure deliveries in a highly accurate and time-efficient way: “We use several different carriers, who drive up to 80 routes each day from our main warehouse. In addition, we also use carriers when delivering goods from our 25 service centers throughout Norway. With so many different carriers, it can be very time-consuming to track shipments without a system that gathers all tracking data in one place.”

The Solution

Berggård Amundsen has integrated nShift Ship with both its WMS system, Astro (which it uses at the main warehouse) and with its ERP system, M3 (which the company’s 25 service centers all have access to) – and they are now using the platform to manage shipments between the main warehouse and services centers, and from the warehouse and service centers directly to customers.

The company also uses Scan App for tracking shipments, with tracking information from the carriers and service centers that use nShift’s free scanning tool being uploaded to a cloud-based service where it is easily accessible for relevant employees.

The Results

The impact of nShift on the company’s delivery process has been immediate. Rolf Inge Danielsen says: “With [nShift], we don’t waste time entering and finding data or tracking parcels in different systems. The integrations have improved our track and trace capability and allow all Berggård Amundsen employees to track all deliveries throughout the Group.”

Role Inge Danielsen is also excited about the role nShift could play in Berggård Amundsen‘s future plans. ”With [nShift], we gather everything regarding shipments in one overall system: shipping methods, carriers, tracking, documentation and reports.
