Plan Black Friday first: for senders in Denmark it had the most shipments of Black Week in each of the last two peak seasons, and Denmark was the only one of seven countries in our data where it beat Cyber Monday both times. Plan Cyber Monday at close to the same level, cover the weekend in between, and keep extra capacity in place from 30 November to 13 December 2026.
At nShift, we follow peak season day by day in the shipments our customers book. The shape of peak, our Black Friday benchmark report, compares each day of the 2024 and 2025 peaks with a regular week in early November. This post does the same for senders in Denmark around Black Week (the Monday-to-Sunday week of Black Friday), compared with the other six countries in our data: Belgium, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the UK.
In our data, the Danish peak differs from the platform's: Black Friday had more shipments than Cyber Monday, volume started later, and it stayed higher into December. A Danish plan copied from the platform pattern would put the busiest day on the wrong date, add too much capacity in the week before Black Week and too little for the second week of December.
Black Friday had the largest share of Black Week in both seasons
Black Friday accounted for 21.3% of Black Week's shipments from Denmark in 2024 and 20.6% in 2025, the largest Friday share of the seven countries in our data. Across the platform it was about 18%.
Black Week opened slowly, then peaked on the Friday. Its Monday was only 1.22 and 1.28 times a regular early-November Monday, the second-slowest start of the seven countries after Finland.

For your 2026 plan: Black Friday falls on 27 November 2026. Set that day's carrier cutoffs, collections and shifts first, then plan the weekend after it: Saturday had about half a Friday's shipments and Sunday a little less.
Cyber Monday came within a tenth of Black Friday
Across the platform, Cyber Monday, the Monday after Black Friday, had more shipments than Black Friday in both seasons. In Denmark it came close, but Black Friday stayed ahead both times, and no other country in our data had Black Friday ahead in both seasons.
For your 2026 plan: Cyber Monday is 30 November 2026. Size it from your Black Friday plan rather than from a regular Monday, and keep Black Friday's extra collections and shifts in place through the weekend in between.

Danish peak started late and stayed into December
Shipments from Denmark stayed above a regular week for five weeks in both seasons, from the week before Black Week to the third week after it. The week before was quiet, at 1.13 and 1.11 times a regular week against 1.22 and 1.25 across the platform. Black Week then rose to 1.85 and 1.82 times a regular week, a step of about 0.7 from the week before: the biggest step into Black Week of the seven countries, in both seasons.

After Black Week, Danish volume held. The second week after reached 1.41 and 1.42 times a regular week, the highest of the seven countries in 2025 and second only to the UK in 2024. Across the five weeks of peak, 51% and 56% of the extra shipments came after Black Week.
For your 2026 plan: if your own 2025 record shows the same late start, plan the week of 16 November close to a regular week and keep peak capacity in place from 30 November to 13 December 2026.
How Denmark compares with its Nordic neighbors
Based on what we're seeing across the Nordics, neighboring markets can share a weekly curve and still peak on different days.
- Sweden followed a curve close to Denmark's around Black Week, at 1.70 and 1.71 times a regular week and about 1.5 the week after. Its Cyber Monday had 22% and 25% more shipments than Black Friday, and its second week of December was lower, at 1.27 and 1.31. If you ship from both countries, plan each around its own peak day.
- Norway reached a similar Black Week, at 1.74 and 1.79 times a regular week, then wound down faster. By the third week after Black Week, Norwegian volume was back at or below a regular week (0.90 and 0.99), while Danish volume was still above it.
- Finland had the flattest peak of the seven countries: Black Week at 1.30 times a regular week in both seasons, and Cyber Monday about a third above Black Friday (132% and 131%).
Outside the Nordics, the UK was the other country where Friday led Black Week, and Saturday and Sunday together carried 23% of the week's shipments there, against 19% to 21% in Denmark. UK volume started rising earlier, with the week before Black Week already at 1.46 and 1.41 times a regular week.
What held across both seasons, and what differed
Plan on what repeated: Black Friday ahead of Cyber Monday, five weeks of peak and a busy second week of December. Two levels differed between the seasons, and they are the ones to set from your own records.
- How close Cyber Monday came. It reached 92% of Black Friday's shipments in 2024 and 97% in 2025. If your own Cyber Monday came within about a tenth of your Black Friday, plan both days at Black Friday level.
- The third week after Black Week, 14 to 20 December in 2026. It was 1.13 times a regular week in 2024 and 1.26 times in 2025, and Sweden's third week differed the same way (1.10 and 1.21). Agree with each carrier in advance what extending extra capacity that week costs. Release it once open orders plus expected volume fit your regular capacity within the delivery dates you have promised.

Bring these to the planning meeting:
- your 2025 weekly shipments against your own regular early-November week
- your Black Friday and Cyber Monday volumes for 2024 and 2025
- each carrier's Saturday collections and its terms for extending or ending extra capacity, across the carriers you use in Denmark
If your webshop is already in code freeze for these weeks, several delivery and returns settings can still change without a developer.
Market growth figures and shipment timing answer different questions
The Danish figures in our Nordic peak season review from December 2025, from MobilePay and the carriers DAO and GLS, measured how much online payments and shipments grew on the year before. What we track here is when shipments were booked through nShift by senders in Denmark, against a regular week in the same season. Use growth figures to size the season and shipment timing to place capacity by day and week.

How we measured
The figures cover outbound shipments booked on the nShift platform by senders in Denmark around Black Friday 2024 and 2025, counted on the day each shipment was booked, with identified returns excluded. A regular week is the average of the two early-November weeks in the same year: 4 to 17 November 2024 and 3 to 16 November 2025. The data describes nShift's senders in Denmark, wherever their parcels were going, rather than the Danish ecommerce market as a whole. The mix of senders can differ between years, so every multiple and share is calculated within the same year.
