For senders in Norway, peak shipping ended with the second week after Black Week in each of the last two peak seasons, which is 7 to 13 December on the 2026 calendar. Shipments from Norway stayed above a regular early-November week for four weeks; each of the other six countries in our data had five.
The shipments our customers book through nShift give us a day-by-day view of peak season. The shape of peak, our Black Friday benchmark report, compares each day and week of the 2024 and 2025 peaks with a regular week in early November. This post applies the same measure to senders in Norway around Black Week (the Monday-to-Sunday week of Black Friday) and compares them with the other six countries in our data: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Sweden and the UK.
Across the whole nShift platform (all senders in our dataset), shipments stayed above a regular week through the third week after Black Week. A plan for Norway copied from that pattern would keep full peak capacity booked through 14 to 20 December 2026, a week longer than shipments from Norway needed it in either of the last two seasons.
Norway had four weeks above a regular week, the fewest of the seven countries
Shipments from Norway rose in the week before Black Week, to 1.22 times a regular early-November week in 2024 and 1.26 in 2025, about the platform's level. Black Week reached 1.74 and 1.79 times a regular week, third-highest of the seven countries after Denmark and the UK. Volume then eased week by week. By the third week after Black Week, it was at 0.90 times a regular week in 2024 and 0.99 in 2025, the lowest of the seven countries both times. Every other country was still above a regular week that week.
From the week before Black Week to the third week after, 31% of the extra shipments from Norway (those above a regular week's level) came after Black Week in 2024 and 38% in 2025, the smallest share of the seven countries in both seasons. In the other six, it was 49% to 56%.
For your 2026 plan: have peak capacity in place from the week of 16 November and plan 7 to 13 December as its last full week. In the third week after Black Week, Monday was still about 1.2 times a regular early-November Monday in both seasons, so keep the extra collections for Monday 14 December. Then release extra capacity once open orders plus expected volume fit your regular capacity within the delivery dates you have promised.
Black Week was busiest on Monday, then Black Friday
Monday accounted for 17.5% of Black Week's shipments from Norway in 2024 and 18.4% in 2025. Black Friday came second, at 17.1% and 17.0%. Across the platform, Black Friday had the largest share of Black Week, at about 18%.
Cyber Monday, the Monday after Black Friday, had 14% more shipments than Black Friday in 2024 and 15% more in 2025. It was busier than Black Week's own Monday as well, so it had more shipments than any day of Black Week in both seasons.
115%
Cyber Monday against Black Friday, senders in Norway, 2025
114% in 2024. Cyber Monday was the busier day in both years.
108%
Cyber Monday against Black Friday, whole nShift platform, 2025
109% in 2024.
From the first Monday: Black Week starts on Monday 23 November 2026. Have its extra shifts and collections in place from that Monday instead of building up to Black Friday on 27 November, and size Cyber Monday, 30 November, above your Black Friday plan.
Norway among the Nordic markets
Based on what we're seeing in the Nordic data, Denmark and Sweden had Black Weeks close to Norway's level and stayed above a regular week one week longer.
- Denmark reached a slightly higher Black Week, at 1.85 and 1.82 times a regular week. Its week before Black Week was quieter than Norway's, at 1.13 and 1.11. Shipments from Denmark were still at 1.13 and 1.26 times a regular week in the third week after. If you ship from both countries, plan more capacity in Norway for the week before Black Week, and release it in Norway a week before you do in Denmark (the Denmark post has the Danish calendar).
- Sweden's Cyber Monday was further ahead of Black Friday than Norway's, with 22% and 25% more shipments. Its Black Week reached 1.70 and 1.71 times a regular week, with Monday as the busiest day there too. In the third week after, Sweden was still at 1.10 and 1.21.
- Finland's peak was the flattest of the seven countries, with Black Week at 1.30 times a regular week in both seasons. Of the other six countries, Finland came closest to Norway in the third week after, at 1.01 and 1.03, just above a regular week.
Outside the Nordics, senders in the UK, the Netherlands and Belgium were still at 1.19 to 1.41 times a regular week in the third week after Black Week, and the whole platform at 1.09 and 1.13. If you ship from Norway and one of these countries, set the December release date for each country separately.
Which parts of Norway's peak repeated?
In both seasons, shipments from Norway stayed above a regular week through the second week after Black Week, Monday was Black Week's busiest day, and Cyber Monday had more shipments than Black Friday. Set the levels that differed from your own records:
- How far the third week after Black Week fell. It was clearly below a regular week in 2024 and almost level with one in 2025. If your own 2025 records show that week close to a regular week, keep at least your regular level of capacity for the whole of 14 to 20 December.
- How busy Black Week's Monday was. It had 1.37 times the shipments of a regular early-November Monday in 2024 and 1.52 times in 2025. Book a firm base for Monday 23 November and keep extra staff on call, so you can cover either level.

How we measured
The figures cover outbound shipments booked on the nShift platform by senders in Norway around Black Friday 2024 and 2025, counted on the day each shipment was booked, with identified returns excluded. A regular week is the average of the two early-November weeks in the same year: 4 to 17 November 2024 and 3 to 16 November 2025. A regular Monday is the average of the two Mondays in those weeks. Extra shipments are the shipments above a regular week, added up from the week before Black Week to the third week after, with any week below a regular week counted against the total. The data describes nShift's senders in Norway, wherever their parcels were going, rather than the Norwegian ecommerce market as a whole. The mix of senders can differ between years, so every multiple and share is calculated within the same year.
