The Challenge
Founded in 1993, Pikkuvihreä (Littlegreen) is a family company specializing in eco-friendly waterless toilet solutions, wastewater purifiers and composting. Today, their dry toilets can be found on practically every continent and the company is recognized as one of the early pioneers in its field.
Customers of Pikkuvihreä can choose from a wide selection of products for use in private residences and public spaces such as parks and camping sites. But, when it comes to delivery, the diversity of the product range poses something of a problem.
Eemeli Palo, E-commerce Manager for Pikkuvihreä, explains: “The smallest products we have fit in an envelope while the biggest products, such as our outhouses, require a pallet. When customers buy both, which they often do, our old system would struggle to find a sensible transportation solution. As a result, we were missing out on 50 to 100 big orders every year.”

The Solution
Implementing nShift Checkout has enabled the Pikkuvihreä team to solve their long-term delivery challenge and automatically identify the optimum transportation solution for every order, however complex.
“With nShift, I can code simple rule sets on how and which delivery methods are triggered for each customer or shopping cart,” Eemeli says. “This has saved us many shipments we would have missed out on in the past. And, given that the most complex shipments are often the most profitable, it’s made a big difference to our bottom line. We’re talking tens of thousands of euros.”
